Human Origins Research: Current Debates, Future Requisites

讲座摘要:
The origin and evolution of our species, Homo sapiens, is one of the most important questions in human evolutionary studies. Here, Michael Petraglia will discuss interdisciplinary field research that he has been engaged in across the continents, namely eastern Africa, southern Asia and eastern Asia. He will discuss some of the key findings of the field work and the debates that they have raised. In the context of historic and ongoing biases in human evolutionary studies, he will discuss the new ARC Centre of Excellence for Transforming Human Origins Research, and its goals over the next ten years.
